Objective:To study the anti-asthmatic effect of composite
tremella mesenterica decoction. Methods:The isolated tracheal slice
test and drug-induced asthma test were employed to observe the influence of compostite
tremella mesenterica decoction on the relaxation of
tracheal smooth muscle and the latent period of asthma induced by isometric liquor of 0 1% histamine and 2% acetylcholine chloride in guinea pigs. Results:The relaxed percentage on isolated tracheal smooth muscle was high in the groups with composite tremella mesenterica decoction of small dosage, middle dosage and large dosage, compared with control group with normal saline, exhibiting a statistically significant difference(P<0 001).The groups with composite tremellla mesenterica decoction of middle dosage and large dosage could prolong the latent period of asthma induced by isometric liquor of 0 1% histamine and 2% acetylcholine chloride, compared with the control group with normal saline, there was a statistically significant difference(P<0 001),which was similar to the group with aminophylline, and no significant difference between them(P>0 05).Conclusions:Composite tremella mesenterica decoction can enhance the relaxed percentage on tracheal smooth muscle, possesses the effect on the relaxation of tracheal smooth muscle, and can prolong the latent period of asthma induced by isometric liquor of 0 1% histamine and 2% acetylcholine chloride, which show composite tremella mesenterica decoction has an evident anti-asthmatic effect.
