Effects of the Prescription of Reinforcing Kidney, Replenishing Qi and Promoting Blood Circulation o

Article Abstract by: TsingHua

Original Author: CHINESE JOURNAL OF MICROCIRCULATION
The effects of the prescription of reinforcins kidney, replenishing qi andpromoting blood circulation (RKRQPBC) on placenta
microcirculatory disturbance in intrauterine grouth retardation (IUGR ) were observed. NADPH--diaphorase histochemical method was used to study nitric oxide synthase(NDe) activity. A copper coated cerium reduction method and thiobarbituric acid(TBA)reaction were respectively adopted to measure the umbillical plasma concentration of NO2- /NO3- and malondialdehyde (MDA ). The results showed that theNOs activity of placental tissues in IUGR group was significantly weaker thanthat in normal control growth. The umbillical plasma level of NO2/NO3 in IUGR group was much lower(P<0. 05) and the level of MDA was much higher(P<0. 01 ) than that in normal control group. There was negative correlationbetween the level of NO2-/NO3- and MDA(r=-0. 612 4, P< 0. 05). Thedifference between Chinese medicine group and normal control group was not sig-nificant(p>0. 05) after treatment with the prescription of RKRQPBC. Thesesuggested that lipid peroxidation may be a crucial mediator of placenta mictocirculatory disturbance. The results indicated that the prescription of RKRQPBCcan enhance the growth of fetuses by way of preventing the injury of lipid peroxidation and raising the synthesis and release of nitric oxide in placental tissues inIUGR.
