Aim: To explore the pharmacological action ofYangchun Capsule (YCC) and its preliminary mechanism ofaction. Methods: The
models of eunuchized mice andnephroyangpenia mice and tumefaction of rats' ankle jointwere prepared by operation or medicine, and then observethe therapy action of YCC was observed. Results: ①Aftertreated by ig YCC 1. 5 g·kg(-1) per day for 12 d, boththe eunuchized mice and the nephroyangpenia mice, theweight of adrenal gland and seminal vesicle gland were increased, and the content of testosterone increased as well(P<0.05 or P<0.01), but the weight of thymus were reduced (P<0. 05 or P<0.01); ②YCC was restrained thetumefaction of normal rats' ankle joint by egg white, but itdid no effects on rats whose adrenal glands were extripatedexcept the large dosage (1. 5 g·kg(-1)) being given for 6 h;③Both the dosage of 1.5 g·kg(-1) and 20 IU ACTH per ratwere given, contents of the plasma cortisol were increased(P<0.01), but this action was antagonized by pentobarbital sodium for 30 mg·kg(-1);④Both normal and modelmice, the macrophages' percentage and index of phagocytosis were improved by ig YCC 1. 5 g·kg(-1)(P<0. 01). Thisdosage did no effects on hemolysm formation to normal mice(P>0. 05), but it did to nephroyangpenia mice (P<0. 01 ).Conclusion:①YCC expresses the same action as androgen,its
mechanism of action may be explained by that YCC couldexcite hypothalamus-pituitary-adrenco axis, then causesecretion of adrenocortical hormone;②YCC has some function of anti-inflammation, increasing content of plasma cortisol and improving immunological function to normal mice.
