Eighty male wistar rats, fed with hyperlipidemic diet were used to establish a hyperlipidemia model to approach the effects of kiwi compound oral liquid on reducing body fat and its relation to anti lipid- peroxidation. The kiwi compound oral liquid and/or exercise training was adopted for prevention and treatmentof hyperlipidemia before and after the hyperlipidemia rat model was established. The following indices were determined: the body weight, body fat, plasma total cholesterol (TC), triglyceride (TG) , high density lipoprotein(HDL-C ) , low density lipoprotein(LDL-C) , SOD , MDA levels. The results were as follows: 1 . Both kiwi compound oral liquid and exercise training possessed the effects of reducing body weight andbody fat and, of preventing the increase of plasma TC, LDL, TG levels and, of increasing HDL-C levels in rats fed with high fat diet. 2. The effects of adopting kiwi oral liquid combined with exercise training( above mentioned ) were much better than those of adopting exercise training only. 3. The preventing effect of reducing body fat of kiwi oral liquid or exercise was better than that of the treatment effect on hyperlipidemic rats. 4. The decrease of serum MDA levels and the increase of activity of SOD were significant in rats adopting kiwi compound oral liquid or exercise training before the hyperlipidemia model was established while the data were not marked in hyperlipidemic rats.
