experimental model,xiao zhi linq with 3 to l concentration (XZL)or 5%
morrhuate sodium(MS)were injected into the lumen of it,The condition of the occlusion of saphenous veins and the process of histological variations of it following injecting XZL were observed under a light microscope, and the toxicity of XZL was compared with that of MS,The results showed that(1) 28 days after injecting XZL,the
proportion of complete or basic occlusion of the saphenous veins in each group averaged Out to l8.28%, and the proportion of local occlusion, to 45.45%。(2)The sclerosant efficiency of XZL was inferior to MS ,and the toxicity of XZL was lower than MS(3)Following injecting XZL, the saphenous veins produced bacterial inflamation,the internal membrane of it was destroyed;then thrombus was formed and produced organization in the lumen of it.At the time,the smooth muscle in the walI of saphenous veins and the perivenous collagenous fiber appeared variations from degeneration to fibrose proliferation which squeezed toward the lumen of veins and therefore resulted in the occlusion or narrowness of veins.This
experimental results offered the theoretical evidences for the effect and mechanism and the mastering of doses and concentrations of XZL injection for cavernous hemangiomas.
