Objective: To study the effects of
Radix Angelica Sinensis(RAS) on
renal ischemia reperfusion in rabbits and to explore its mechanism. Methods: Twenty-five rabbits were divided randomly into the operative
control group(control group) ,renal ischemia reperfusion injury group(IR group )and RAS-treated group(RAS+IR group). At reperfusion 48hours after renal ischemia for 1hour, the renal
tissue was detected by electron-microscopy and the
amounts of creatinine(Cr) in serum , the
activity of ATPase and the amounts of bFGF in renal tissue were determined. Results: The degenerative changes were remarkable under electronmicroscope in renal tissue in IR group, but the changes in RAS+IR group were slight. Compared with control group, the amounts of Cr in IRgroup were signicantly increased(P<0.05), the activity of ATPase and the amounts of bFGF in renal tissue was markedly decreased (P<0.05,P< 0.01 );Compared with IR group, the amounts of Cr in RAS+IR group were signicantly decreased(P<0.05), the activity of ATPase in renal tissue were markedly increased (P<0.05);There were no signifcant differences between the control group and RAS+IR group(P>0.05); while the amount of bFGF in RAS+IR group increased compared with IR group and control group(P<0.01,P<0.05). Conclusion:RAS can alleviate the renal ischemia reperfusion injury by protecting the activity of ATPase and inducing the production of bFGF.
