AIM:To study the saponins,from the buds of
Lonicera confusa DC.,and to estimate the quality of “Flos Lonicera”(Jinyinhua,in
Chinese) more roundly.METHOD: The n-BuOH fraction from EtOH ext.of Lonicera confusa. were studied.Chromatography and spectral analysis were used to isolate and elucidate the constituents.RESULT: Seven triterpenoidal saponins having hederagenin as aglycones were isolated from the dried buds of L.confusa ,and identified as : hederagenin-28 -O- β- D -glucopyranosyl(6→1) -O- β- D -glucopyranosyl ester(Ⅰ),hederagenin-3 -O- α- L -
arabinopyranosyl(2→1) -O- α- L -rhamnopyranosider(Ⅱ),hederagenin-3 -O- α- L -arabinopyranosyl(2→1) -O- α- L -rhamnopyranosyl-(3→1) -O- β- D -glucopyranoside (macranthoside A)(Ⅲ),hederagenin-3 -O- α- L -arabinopyranosyl(2→1) -O- α- L -rhamnopyranosyl-(3→1) -O- β- D -glucopyranosyl(4→1) -O- β- D -glucopyranoside(macranthoside B)(Ⅳ),3 -O- α- L -arabinopyranosyl-(2→1) -O- α- L -rhamnopyranosyl-hederagenin-28 -O- β- D -glucopyranosyl(6→1) -O- β- D -glucopyranosyl ester(dipsacoside B)(Ⅴ),3- O -α- L -arabinopyranosyl-(2→1) -O- α- L -rhamnopyranosyl-(3→1)- O -β- D -glucopyranosyl-hederagenin-28 -O- β- D -glucopyranosyl(6→1) -O- β- D -glucopyranosyl ester (macranthoidin A)(Ⅵ) and 3 -O- α- L -arabinopyranosyl-(2→1) -O- α- L -rhamnopyranosyl-(3→1)-β- D -glucopyranosyl-(4→1) -O- β- D -glucopyranosyl-hederagenin-28 -O- β- D -glucopyranosyl(6→1) -O- β- D -glucopyranosyl ester (macranthoidin B)(Ⅶ).CONCLUSION:Saponin I was isolated from the genus for the first time,and saponins Ⅲ and Ⅳ were first reported among natural products which have ever been isolated and reported from Lonicera.
