AIM:To study the dose effect relation between endocrine particles of right atrial auricle in rats with acute incomplete
cerebral ischemia and modified erxian tang,and to explore the significance of these changes. METHODS:The middle aged Wistar rats were used as the models with the method of bilateral common carotid occlusion for 2 hours and then release to make acute incomplete cerebral ischemia models.The rats in the experimental group were given erxian tang before modeling.The rats in all groups were killed at 6 hours,24 hours,3 days and 7days after reperfusion and the right atrial auricle were taken out and made into ultra thin section which were observed with electron microscope,by means of morphometriology. RESULTS:The atrial specific granules(ASG) of the rats in the control group decreased obviously after reperfusion 6 and 24 hours,but only a little released in those of experimental group. Three days after the ASG increased in number,the number of granules changed from small to large and their electric density from rare to dense, gradually.The ASG was similar to normal in every respect after 7 days.The morphometric study indicated that there were remarkable differences between the experimental group and control group in the volume density(Vv),neumerical density on area(Na), neumerical density(Nv) and average diameter(D)of the ASG(P< 0.05,P< 0.01), especially in the group at 24 hours<(0.071±0.085) μm3/μm3,(7.94±1.47),(3.10±0.08) nm,(0.368±0.103) μm,respectively>, which had significant difference compared with those of control group<(0.049±0.005) μm3/μm3,(7.34±2.33),(2.27±0.07) nm, (0.290±0.091) μm,respectively>(P< 0.05). CONCLUSION:Releasing and consuming of the ASG in myofibre of the rats right atrial auricle in the experimental group are reduced obviously by the modified erxian tang.According to the special functions of the ANP,the effect of modified erxian tang on brain protection is disproofed by these experimental results.
