Objective To seek a simple and effective method to quickly stopping
blood oozing in abdominal or
pelvic cavity. Methods
Each of the 30 patients of observing group with blood oozing in abdominal or
pelvic cavity were directly injected 30 u of pituitrin into abdominal or pelvic cavity twice a day, while routine hemostatic management were
administered to all the 26 patients of control group. Results With no obvious side effect, all the blood oozing in abdominal or pelvic cavity in observing group were stopped through 1~3 days' administration. The three days' routine manegement applied to the patients of control group was of no effect, so they turned to the same therapy as used in observing group and their blood oozing was then stopped. There was very significant difference in efficacy between the two groups (χ2=52, P<0.001). Conclusion Pituitrin is effective on abdominal or pelvic blood oozing without clear side effect when directly administered into abdominal or pelvic cavity via injection.
