ABSTRCT Objective:To explore the effect of Siwutang on the activity of Na + -K + -ATPase in the red cell membranes
of the mice with blood
deficiency.Method:200mice were randomly divided into blank control group(n=20),three kinds of blood deficiency model groups by myelosuppression,blood lose and hemolytic respectively.The control,treatment and natural recovery were set for every blood deficiency model group(n=20).The activities of Na + -K + -ATPase in the red cell membranes were tested by zymologic colorimetry.Results:The activity of Na + -K + -ATPase in the red
cell membrane have decreased in all the blood deficiency mice.Siwutang could increase the activity of Na + -K + -ATPase in the membrane of RBC of the blood loss and hemolytic mice compared with natural recovery group(P<0.01).Conclusion:Siwutang could increase the activity of Na + -K + -ATPase in the membrane of RBC of the blood loss and hemolytic mice,and promote the function of RBC.But Siwutang could not increase the activity of Na + -K + -ATPase in the membrane of RBC of the myelosuppression mice.
