Aim To study the effects of diflucan and garlic oil injection against candida albicans. Methods The minimal inhibitory concentration (MIC) and the minimal bactericidal concentration (MBC) of diflucan and garlic oil injection against candida albicans were determined by the means of double dilution method with sabouraud agar. The time-killing curves against candida albicans had been plotted with the colony counts. The postantibiotic effects (PAE) were calculated with the absorption by spectrophotometry at 650nm.Results The MIC of diflucan against candida albicans was 0.78μg·ml -1 .The MIC,MBC and PAE of Garlic oil injection were 3.1,6.2μg·ml -1 and 17 hrs respectively. Conclusion It was indicated that the effect of diflucan injection against candida albicans was to retard the growth of fungi. Its bacteriostasis was higher than that of Garlic oil injection.Lower concentration of garlic oil injection retarded the growth of fungi while it was bactericidal and had long time postantibiotic effect at higher concentration. It suggested that they might have stronger functions with combination.
