Aim To evaluate the
efficiency in clinical application of medicinal aseptic bone wax manufactured by the general hospital
of shenyang military region.Methods 10 286 cases(5 779 males and 4 507 females) who need operative management from 1994 to December 2001 were included.The cases were from 4 departments (the department on orthopaedics, neurosurgery,cardiovascular surgery and thoracic surgery) of our hospital with an average age of 42.7±28.3(1～94 years old).We used the bone wax to stanch cancellous rupture bleeding during operation and observed the
efficiency and reaction.Results 9608 cases (93.4%) got significant efficacy without any side effects,586 cases (5.7%) grew together with microdose effluxion and 92 cases (0.9%) didn't healing well.Conclusion In most cases of the operation to stanch cancellous rupture bleeding,the
medicinal aseptic bone wax can be used safely and expediently with low price.Its efficiency is excellent.It can be used as the alternative of imported bone wax completely.
