Abjective:To investigate the an tioxidant effects of compound N-2035on the brain against ischemia-reperfusion injury in
rats.Methods:Rats were prepared to produce a model of fo cal brain is chemic injury by middle cerebral artery occlusion(MCAO),then perfusion was recovered by pulling out the suture1h.the rats received drugs for4times(30min before operation and1,24and36hours after op eration).48hours after reperfusion homogenate,cytoplasm and mitochon dria of brain tissue were obtained and malondi aldelyde(MDA)levels,total antioxidant capacity(T-AOC)and su peroxide dismutase(SOD)were determined by spectroscopy respectively.Results:MDA level increased sig nificantly while T-AOC and SOD levels decreased significantly in ischemia-reperfusion rats compared with those in the sham group.Compared with ischemia-reperfusion group,MDA level decreased and T-AOC and SOD levels in creased significantly in all drug-treated groups.Conclusion:Compound N-2035could re duce damage of oxygen
free radicals and increase the activity of antioxidase.
