Objective To study the relationship between
lipid peroxydation(LPO) and liver fibrosis and anti-
hepatofibrosis of Yugan
decoction in chronic Hepatitis B (CHB).Methods The serum levels of hyaluronic alid (HA),procollagenⅢ (PCⅢ) , type Ⅳ collagen (ⅣC) and laminin (LN) were determined by radioimmunoassay ,and the LPO levels were measured by turbidimetry in 53 CHB patients. Fifty threc CHB patients were divided into two groups, and the serum levels of HA, PCⅢ, ⅣC, LN and LPO in before and after treatment were compared. Results As the illness progresses, the serum levels of HA, PCⅢ,ⅣC,LN and LPO were increased (P<0.05 or P<0.01),and the levels of HA, PCⅢ, ⅣC and LN had a parallel relationship with the LPO levels. The Yugan decoction can decrease aforementioned parameters of
hepatofibrosis and LPO (P<0.05 or P<0.01). Conclusion The action of LPO are correlation closely with development and progress of hepatofibrosis. The Yugan decoction has anti-hepatofibrosis effect and the effect may be correlated with it`s against action of
lipid peroxydation .
