In order to investigate the
meridian tropism of Chinese herbal formula in the pathological status,in accordance with the theory of“
Kidney Dominating Bone”in Chinese medicine,the rats with osteoporosis made by dexamethasone were respectively treated by stomach feeding of herbal decoction from the kidney
nourishing compound formula(Six Ingredient Rehmannia Pills,plus Herba Epimedii,Concha Ostreae,etc.)and external application of herbal ointment on acupoints,with
cAMP/cGMP ratio as the index,to observe the influence of kidney nourishing compound formula on
intracellular information regulation and the correlation of the meridian
Tropism of herbal drugs in 10 organs of liver,spleen,kidney,etc,in the model rats.The results showed that the regulation in change of cAMP,cGMP messenger in the kidney nourishing compound formula was greatly related to description about meridian tropism recorded in books on Chinese materia medica,thus providing a thinking trace and method for study of meridian tropism of Chinese herbal formulas.
