AIM:To study the effects of Angelica sinensis injection on endothelin-1(ET-1),angiotensinⅡ(AT-Ⅱ),endogenous digitalis-like
factor (EDF) and pulmonary hemodynamics in the patients with hypoxic pulmonary
hypertension (COPD). METHODS: Sixty patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) complicated pulmonary hypertension were randomly divided into two groups. The Angelica sinensis
injection group of 30 patients
were treated with 25% Angelica sinensis injection 250 mL, iv drip, qd, for 10 d. The control group of 30 patients were received 5% glucose injection 250 mL, iv drip, qd for 10 d. RESULTS: The levels of blood ET-1,ATⅡ,EDF,mean pulmonary arterial pressure (MPAP) and pulmonary vascular resistance (PVR) were decreased by (20±6)%,(36±9)%,(38±11)% and (17±5)%,(27±8)% respectively in the Angelica sinensis injection group. There were significant differences compared with the control group ( P <0.05 or P <0.01). CONCLUSION: Angelica sinensis can inhibit synthesis and release of ET-1, AT-Ⅱ and EDF of blood, decrease pulmonary arterial pressure and improve pulmonary circulation in the patients with COPD complicated pulmonary hypertension.
