AIM: To observe the efficacy and adverse reaction of domestic
terbinafine in treating
superficial mycotic infections. METHODS:
Eighty patients (M 51, F29, Age 41 a± s 17 a) with
superficial mycotic infections were treated with domestic terbinafine topical, bid. KOH tests for all patients were positive and 30 patients were subject to culture examination. Tinea corporis, tinea cruris and pityriasis
versicolor were treated for one week, tinea manus, tinea pedis were treated for two weeks. RESULTS: Two weeks after the stoppage of the treatment, the clinical cure rate was: tinea corporis 100 %, tinea cruris 100 %, tinea manus 100 %, tinea pedis 86 %, pityriasis versicolor 100 %, the total clinical cure rate was 99 %. The mycological clearance rate was tinea corporis 94 % tinea cruris 95 % tinea manus 100 %, tinea pedis 86 %, pityriasis versicolor 90 %, the total mycological clearance rate was 94 %. No significant adverse reaction was found. CONCLUSION: The domestic ointment terbinafine is an effective drug in treating superficial mycotic infections, and adverse reaction is seldom.
