Objective In Older to provide experimental evidences for the correct selection of antidotes in the clinical menagement against
acute terbufos intoxication. Methods Wistar rats were intoxicated by terbufos administration (PO) at the dosage of 3 or 4 mg/kg. As soon as the typical symptoms of intoxication came out, rats were treated intramuscularly with
Jielin injection or the No. 85 complex remedy, and comparisons on the severity of the symptoms, death bine, and blood
acetylcholinesterase (AChE ) activity were also made before and after the therapeutic treatment. Results It was found that Jielin or No. 85 complex remedy injection could rapidly increase the AChE up to the level of 80% or higher, greatly extended the time needed for the symptom pf muscular tremor to be observed, they could also decrease the mortality rate very significantly when treated by a repeated dosage of the same antidote. Conclusion These results indicated that Jielin injection and No. 85 complex remedy will be of great curative value in the clinical treatment of terbufos intoxication.
