Objective: To investigate the effect of
Katong Tablets on the blood rheology of patients suffering from ischemic cardio
cerebral argiopathy. Methods: 84 patients suffering from
cardio cerebral angiopathy were divided into the therapy group (66 cases) and the control group (18 cases). The therapy group (of the 66 patients 51 were males and 15 were females aged 55.2±11.6 years) was treated with
Katong Tablets in a dose of 2-4 tablets tid for 30 days. The control group (of the 18 patients 15 were males and 3 were females aged 61.4± 6.6 years) was treated with Kalan Tablets in a dose of 5 mg bid for 30 days. Results: The total effective rates were 93.94% for the therapy group and 94.44% for the control group. There was no significant difference in curative effect between two groups by Ridit analysis (P>0.05). The blood rheology indexes of two groups showed significant changes. (P<0.05 or P<0.01). No significant difference existed between two groups (P> 0.05 ). Conclusion: Tatong Tablets is similer to Kalan Tablets in the curative effect on ischemic cardio cerebral angiopathy.
