Objective:To study the protective actionof
Kaixin powder on the kidney in the cases of ischemia-reperfusion injury.Method:The
models of ischemia-reperfusion injury were constructed in rats.The pathological changes of the tissues in the kidney were observed and shades of lactic acid dehydrogenase (LDH)in the kidney tissue were analyzed with computer.The content of superoxide dismutase(SOD),malondialdihyde(MDA) and nitric oxide(NO) in the serum and kidney tissues were measured.Result:After ischemia of the kidney tissues was kept for 1 hour and reperfusion 15 minutes,significant pathological changes in the kidney tissues was kept for 1 hour and LDH in the renal tubulars were
increased.The activity of SOD and NO in the serum and kidney tissue were decreased and the content of MDA were increased.After
Kaixin powder was administered,the activity of SOD and NO were increased,the content of MDA were lowered and the pathological changes of the kidney tissues were improved.Conclusion:Kaixin powder can alleviate lipid peroxidation,get rid of free radicals and protect the endothelial cell of blood vessels.This may be one of the mechanisms that improve ischemia-reperfusion injury of the kidney.
