Chinese medicine. Methods: Based on the research of literature and combined with working experience, the position and function of herbal species appraisement in
quality control of Traditional Chinese medicine were discussed respectively from the four aspects as fellows: ①contemporary condition of herbal species; ②
the herbal species appraisement is the chief link of quality control; ③the development of herbal species classifying appraisement methods; ④ the condition of computer applying in management of herbal species. Result and conclusion:For the complexity of herbal specie, the herbal species appraisement is the chief link of quality control, and the accurate foundation were supplied to the herbal species appraisement by the modern technique such as molecular biology, ultrastructure and micro-morphology, spectrum method et al. Meanwhile, the computer could be used to effectual management of herbal species.
