Objective: To observe the effect of Urapidil(URA)on preventing cardiovascular reactions during extraction of endotracheal tube. Methods: 112 cases undergoing operations under general anesthesia were divided into 4 groups. These patients had comparable ages, sex, body weight and kinds of operations. Group A was control and group B,C,D received 0. 5, 0. 3, 1.0mg· kg~(-1) of URA 5 minutes before extraction of tube. Results: After extraction of tube, the cardiovascular reactions were stable in group B,C,D. SBP,DBP,MAP,HR and RPP significantly increased (P <0.01). Group D was higher than group B,C in ranges of increase, however, was lower than group A. In group A, the above-mentioned parameters were markedly increased after tube ex- traction (P <0. 01) and the range of increase was significanly different from those of other three groups (P <0.01). Conclusion: URA can effectively prevent the cardiovascular reactions after tube extraction. The dosages of 0.3-0. 5mg·kg~(-1) are prop- er and a dosage of 0.3mg·kg~(-1) is unsatisfactory.
