Objective To investigate the
synergistic action of HuoxueHuayu(promoting blood circulation and dissolving stagnant blood)herbs
on the cholagogic effect of QingreLidan medicine(clearing away heat and promoting bile secretion)herbs.Methods Thirty-six healthy Wistar rats were randomly divided into six groups:normal group,saline control group,HuoxueHuayu group,QingreLidan group,Lidanling(HuoxueHuayu and QingreLidan herbs together)group and Ursodeoxycholic acid group.Except for the normal group,a
T-tube for external drainage of bile was inserted in all the other groups.Specimens were collected seven days after administration to determine individually bile flow rate,bile and serum bilirubin,direct bilirubin,total bile acid,cholesterol and phospholipids.Result Compared with other groups,both ursodeoxycholic acid group and Lidanling group may significantly promote normal rat bile flow rate,bile bilirubin,total bile acid and decreased bile cholesterol,significantly decreased serum bilirubin,serum total bile acid and serum cholesterol levels with little effect on phospholipid of bile and serum.Conclusion HuoxueHuayu herbs has showed
synergistic action with QingreLidan herbs.
