Objective:To study the effects of GBE50 on the
activities of GSH-PX and MDA
levels in the hearts of rat models with hyperlipermia. Methods:The
Wister rats weighing 50 g were divided to three groups:the control group fed with normal food, the high fat group fed with high lipid food and the prophylaxis group fed with the high lipid food and GBE50. Thirteen weeks later the high fat group were divided into four groups:the model group and three groups treated with GBE50 of 25 mg/kg.d,50 mg/kg.d,100 mg/kg.d, respectively for 4 weeks.Observation of GSH-PX
activities and MDA levels in the
hearts of the experimental rats. Results:(1)The oxidative stress induced by hyperlipemia and GBE50 made the activities of the GSH-PX in rat hearts obviously decreased and the MDA levels increased. (2)The activities of GSH-PX were enhanced by GBE50 in a dose-dependent manner and the MDA levels were greatly decreased as well. In the prophylaxis group, GBE50 showed similar action against the oxidative stress. Conclusions:GBE50 can recover the GSH-PX activities and reduce the MDA levels in the rat hearts induced by high lipid, producing its protective function.
