AIM: To study the effect and mechanism of Shenxiang Yangwei Capsule(SXYWC for short) on
gastrointestinal motility in mouse
and rabbit. METHODS: Through the experiment of movement of the Chinese ink in small intestine of the mice and the isolated intestinal preparation of rabbits in vitro,we observed the effect and mechanism of SXYWC for normal、hyperfunctional and inhibitory state of
gastrointestinal motility. RESULTS: SXYWC could obviously inhibit the normal、hyperfunctional state of the gastrointestinal motility of mice(P<(0.01)),but had little influence on the inhibitory state(P>0.05).SXYWC could also obviously inhibit the normally isolated intestinal of rabbits in vitro and was dose-dependent.It could obviously inhibit the convulsive state of isolated intestinal of rabbit induced by Ach、Neo、BaCl_2,but had little influence on the isolated intestinal of rabbit induced by phentolamine. CONCLUSION: SXYWC obviously inhibits the mobility of small intestinal and the normally state and the convulsive state of isolated intestinal of rabbit in vitro.Its
function mechanism may be related with anticholinergic side reaction、calcium antagonistic effect and so on.Maybe its effect has little relation with α-adrenoceptor.
