Objective To investigate the effect of
Compound-insulin gel on the healing of skin ulcers in rats. Methods 18 Wistar rats
were used in this study.Four skin ulcers with the same depth into hypoderma were incised on the back of each rat.72 ulcers were divided into three groups:the first(group A)and the second(group B)group were treated respectively with
Compound-insulin gel and Gel- Martrix. The third one(group C)were treated with nothing. The effect on
ulcer healing was assessed by measurements of ulcer area、the rate of ulcer healing and histopathological changes of each group. Results In the first 10 days,Ulcer area of group A decreased most obviously in three groups, the rate of ulcer healing largest. On the 14th day, our results showed the structure of skin on healed ulcer in group A was complete;while group B and C showed non-complete-healing,for which structure of skin still wasn't completely epithelized. Conclusion It was suggested that local application of Compound-insulin gel might improve healing of skin ulcers in rats.
