Objective To select chitosan as film carrier, then add aloe vera, epidermal growth factor (EGF)et al to prepare oral
composite
film. To explore the most optimal combination of various compound and the physical-chemical nature of drug film. Methods ①To prepare the
composite film with chitosan , EGF and aloe vera et al. ②To determine the physical-chemical nature of this film. Result ① The thickness of composite film was about 0.5mm and drug was well-distributed. The film looked like red-brown and its adherence was good. If it contacted with
water after 2 minutes, it would become glue-confection and adhere mucosa strongly. It contained 0.007 gram chitosan, 0.051 gram aloe vera, 40IU EGF, 0.553 mg dincaine per cm2 film. The pH of 1% water solution of composite film was 6.8±0.1 at 25 ℃. The melting time in water was about 60-90 minutes. ②Composite film had good releasing capacity which could release most drug in 2-2.5 hours. Conclusion The result indicated that water-soluble chitin was a kind of good mucal carrier material , and when it is added to aloe, EGF et al it does not affect its adherence; further its drug release is good and guarantees efficient release.
