Objective To observe the effect of
Danshen Yin on some gastric mucosal defensive factors in rats with acetic acid-induced
gastric ulcer and to explore its anti-ulcer mechanisms. Methods Rat models with acetic acid-induced
gastric ulcer were treated with
Danshen Yin,ranitidine, and saline respectively for 14 days. After treatment, the ulcer index, serum nitric oxide(NO) level, plasma prostaglandin E2(PGE2)content and the number of micrangium in the granulation at the ulcer base were examined. Results The ulcer index in Dandhen Yin group and ranitidine group was significantly less than that in model group(P < 0.01). Compared with normal control group, the levels of NO and PGE2 were decreased and the number of micrangium was increased in the model group;compared with those in the model group, the above indexes were all increased obviously in Danshen Yin group and the effect of Danshen Yin in the dose of 7 g/kg was better than that of ranitidine(P < 0.05).Conclusion Danshen Yin can increase the levels of NO and PGE2,promote angiogenesis at the ulcer base, which may be one of its anti-ulcer mechanisms.
