0bject:To investigate and analyze the state of irrationality in usage of antibiotics for
transfusion therapy in the clinic
service. Methods: 1 225 sheets of intravenous transfusion prescription in the clinic service in our hospital from Jun. 2004 to Sep. 2004 were selected randomly to analyze the irrational usage of antibiotics for intravenous transfusion prescription according to clinical pharmacology knowledge and documents data. Results: 634 sheets out of the 1 225 sheets of intravenous transfusion prescription used antibiotics, and among these 634 sheets there were 151 sheets of irrational usage of antibiotics, taking up 32.8% of the total sheets selected. The existing problems were dosing interval time, the selection of dissolvent dilution
compatibility, combined administration as well as the trend of hormone abusage. Conclusions: The usage of antibiotics for intravenous transfusion prescription in our hospital needed be further improved. It was suggested that more lectures on usage of antibiotics should be given.The error habituation and compatibility must be timely clarified in the magazine of medicine information in our hospital. Besides, to strengthen the examining and verifying the prescription could benefit the rational usage of antibiotic.
