Objective :To observe the effect of Cornu Cervi pantotrichum on TGF-β 1 in experimental
fracture healing and investigate the mechanism in the acceleration of fracture healing. Methods :60 SD rats were divided into four
groups at random and equally:Group A (control),Group B (shangke jiegupian),Group C(light does Cornu Cervi Pantotrichum),Group D (heavy does Cornu Cervi Pantotrichum).Standard fractures were made at middle of right tibias in 60 rats.The Specimens were taken from 5 rats of each groups at 1,2,3 weeks respectively after operation.Then measuring thickness of callus,immunohistochemical studies and image analysis method were performed on every slice. Result :During fracture healing,the thickness of
callus and
expression of TGF -β 1 in treatment groups and shangke jiegupian
Group were much better than in control.The peak of expression intensity of TGF-β 1 of the treatment groups appeared about 1 week ahead of the
control group with a higher concentration. Conclusion :According to the results,we maintain the mechanism of heavy does Cornu Cervi Pantotrtchunon promoting fracture healing:enhance the expression of TGF -β 1 in callus.
