Aim: To observe the effects of traditional Chi-nese drug: Additional tingli dazao xiefei capsulae on acutelung
contusion
of rabbit. Methods: A rabbit model of pul-monary
contusion was established with the impact or andthe pathophysiologic changes were observed before and afterthe treatment. Twenty-four New Zealand white rabbitswere divided into three groups (Group A, B and C): pul-monary contusion group (n = 8 ),
pulmonary contusion withthe treatment group (n = 8) and normal contral group (n =8). The capsulae were fed by the gastric tube for the rab-bits of Group B. Results: Group B showed decreased respi-ratory frequency,albumin of the BALF and pulmonary wet/dry rate (P < 0. 05 ) and higher blood oxygen content (P <0. 05 ) compared with Group A. Conclusion: Additionaltingli dazao xiefei capsulae play important roles in removingedema in pulmonary interstitial and alveolar caused by pulmonary contusion and decreasing transudation of albumin. Itcan improve the oxygen content of the blood and it providesa new method for the acute lung contusion.
