AIM To study the preventive effect of Sanjia Yigan granule in
experimental hepatofibrosis in rats. METHODS The experimental
hepatofibrosis rats produced by CCl 4 were treated with Sanjia Yigan granule ig , and the results were compared with control groups prevented with hepatocyte growth promoting factors (pHGF) and Dahuang Zhechong pills. The serum
hepatofibrosis indexes, hyaluronic acid (HA), collagen Ⅳ (Ⅳ C) and laminin (LN) were measured with radioimmunoassay, and the liver pathological changes were observed in each group of rats. The results were analyzed statistically. RESULTS The serum ALT, AST, Glb, HA, Ⅳ C and LN were more markedly reduced ( P <0 01) in the Sanjia Yigan granule group, and the degree of the hepatofibrosis was lighter than in the control group ( P <0 01). The serum HA and LN in Sanjia Yigan granule groups were markedly lower ( P <0 05) than in Daihuang Zhechong pill group, and the serum ALT ( P <0 05) HA and LN ( P <0 01) were reduced in Sanjia Yigan granule group with double dosage. CONCLUSION Sanjia Yigan granule has significant preventive effect for
experimental hepatofibrosis in rats.
