Objective To study the effect of
ganglioside on spatial learning and memory in learning and memory deficit mouse. Methods
Learning and memory deficit mice were selected from aged mice by using Morris water maze and received daily injection of
ganglioside for 14 days, then analyzed the
parameter of place navigation test and spatial probe test by Morris water maze test. Result The aged learning and memory deficit drug treated group (drug treat group) had significantly shortened in escape latency compared with aged learning and memory deficit control group (control group). The drug treat group had significantly increased compared with control group in both of the percentage of swim distance in platform quadrant and the number of crossing platform, but the parameter of drug treat group still not reached the levels of parameter of both young group and aged normal learning and memory group. Conclusion It is showed ganglioside improved spatial learning and memory in learning and memory deficits aged mouse.
