Influence of diltiazem on serum endogenous digitalislike substance in patients with angina pectoris

Article Abstract by: TsingHua

Original Author: INTEGRATED TRADITIONAL CHINESE AND WESTERN MEDICINE IN PRACTICE OF CRITICAL CARE MEDICINE
Objective:To observe the influence of diltiazem on serum endogenous digitalislike substance (EDLS) in patients with angina
pectoris. Methods:Fiftyseven cases of angina pectoris including stable form (31 cases) and unstable form (26 cases),they were treated with oral diltiazem 30 mg ,3 times daily for 2 weeks. Moreover,to detect the serum EDLS concentration preand post medication with radioimmunoassay. Results:The serum EDLS concentration were (323 5±100 2) ng/L and (411 5±116 9)ng/L respectively, preand post therapy in angina pectoris patients,it were raised obviously than normal control group (198 5±112 4)ng/L, P <0 05 and P <0 01 ,particulaly in unstable angina pectoris patients who were obvious difference from stable form ( P <0 05).Diltiazem could be decreased the EDLS concentration at the same time of improving angina pectoris symptom. The EDLS concentrations in patients with stable and unstable angina pectoris were (245 3±98 6)ng/L and (318 7±109 4) ng/L respectively following therapy, they were decreased markedly as compared to before therapy (all P <0 05).Conclusions:EDLS has an important role in pathogenesis of angina pectoris and diltiazem may decrease EDLS concentration via reduce Ca 2+ influx.
