Effect of the Serum with Radix Astragali on Lymphocyte Proliferation and Production of the Interleu

? Objective:To further evaluate the immunopharmacological effects of Radix Astragali.Methods:Two in vitro experiments were performed for comparative study to evaluate the immunopharmacological effects of Radix Astragali by serologic pharmacological test.The first experiment approach adopted the addition of the mice's serum pretreated with Radix Astragali to the culture medium while in the second experiment the Radix Astragali was added to the medium directly.Results:Both the serum with Radix Astragali and the Radix Astragali itself could promote the lymphocyte proliferation,mixed lymphocyte response and the production of the interleukin 2 significantly and dosedependently.Conclusions:It suggested that Radix Astragali could promote the lymphocyte proliferation,mixed lymphocyte response and the production of the interleukin 2 both in vivo and in vitro.Radix Astragali contain the effective elements of promoting the lymphocyte proliferation,mixed lymphocyte response and the production of the interleukin 2 and it is orally effective.
