Progressive Power Yoga is a unique style of yoga adapted by Mark Blanchard. This style contains smooth motions in a challenging
format that burns calories, sculpts muscles, and increases flexibility while relieving stress and creating a feeling of inner calm. Blanchard’s style of yoga is presented in three DVD volumes, each containing a different challenging one and a half hour work out. Volume One of Progressive Power Yoga is perhaps the easiest of the three workouts. Beginners to yoga will likely be able to attempt a good deal of the video without knowing any of the poses or having a great deal of flexibility. There are definitely some poses that will frighten the beginner but the instructor is extremely supportive stating that yoga isn’t competitive so you should do what you can without hurting yourself or sit down and breathe if you can’t do a pose. That members of the class undertaking this workout actually followed this advice, made me feel that my best was good enough and perhaps someday I would be able to do all of the poses.
