Indian black scorpion venom –cure for blood cancer
Scorpions are very poisonous creatures, equipped
with a deadly stinger at the end of its tail. The Black
Scorpion has the potential to kill a human in its earlier years, but will slowly lose its potency as it ages.But here is a surprise from the reserchers of the Indian Institute of chemical biology, Kolkata and University of Calcutta,they claim, the Indian Black scorpion venom is a cure for human blood cancers.Several Laboratory test were done, and it was found that the venom from the black scorpion stoped the proliferation of cultured human blood cancer cells.The
leukamatic cells were venom treated and kept for 48hr and controled death of these cells were observed. Some protein which is present in this venom, is doing the work.Research still continues to identify how these protiens are inhibiting the growth of these cancer cells.These findings provide clues for the develpment of new and cheap anti leukamatic drugs.
