With the opening of the Mindanao Heart Center in Davao City, Philippines this year, problems on the treatment of
heart-related diseases of the local residents have been solved without going anymore to the metro cities like Manila and Cebu. With the procurement of high-tech equipment for
diagnostic and
intervention tests, accessibility to facilities like this is made easier to all people in the region. Since the hospital is government-controlled, it is also easily accessible to less fortunate individuals.
The heart facility will have two major sections: the diagnostic and the intervention section.
Initially, only the diagnostic section will be opened to the public as they are still waiting for additional equipment to be used in the intervention section.
The Mindanao Heart Center will be home to a catheterization laboratory or cath lab, the first 3D Echocardiogram in Mindanao, operating rooms equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, and cardiac clinics. The facility is capable of doing open bypass and close heart surgeries.
The P350-million Mindanao Heart Center, made up of three storeys and with 50 bed capacity, will be supported with the best cardiologists and other physicians in the entire region. With this facility, care for the heart is made to be within the reach of everyone.
