            HOW TO AVOID GET BITTEN BY DOGS
-Never leave
an infant or a toddler alone with a dog.
-Dont disturb a dog thats sleeping,eating or caring for puppies.
-Dont approach strange or unfamiliar dog even if they appear friendly.
-If approach by a friendly dog,always ask the owner if you can pat it.
-If the owner says yes,close your hand into a fist and let the dog sniff the back of your hand.Only if the dog accept you should you pat it gently on the chest,shoulder or under the skin.
-To avoid a stray dog,walk away from it slowly and quietly.Never run.Dont stare into the dog''s eyes or you may make it aggressive.
-Know the posture signs that indicate that the dog is ready to attact.Common one''s include:Head lowered,ears up and body tense.
-If you are confronted by an aggressive dog,place you hands by your sides and keep them still.Never wave them in the air.Turn side on the dog this will make you seem less threatening.Try to edge away slowly and quietly.
-Dont run or scream if attacked bu a dog.Stand sideways and keep quiet if you are knocked over,curl into a ball,tuck you head into your chest,and focus on protecting you throat and stomach,where injuries can be fatal.
-Dont be silly.People who boast of being "good with dogs" often end up getting bitten by them.Often they forget to take proper precautions with dogs they dont know.Some parents will hold their child at face level to a stranger''s dog,expecting it will injoy patting.But the dog may bite through fear.Children especially must be taught how to be smart with dogs.Make sure they dont try making stunts like riding the dog or blowing to its face.
