Simple tips to De-Stress, especially for Women
It is well known that stress is the chief cause behind most of our problems like high blood pressure, obesity
and other disorders. In fact, women cannot find time to de-stress due to their busy schedules. Here are some stress-reducing tips that women could try without affecting their busy schedule. 1. Prepare for the next day in advance. Getting prepared and organized for the next day, before you leave the work, will alleviate the work stressors from the mind. Starting the next day organized and prepared will provide a sense of control of the day thereby relieving the stress. 2. By keeping 3-4 small snacks on hand something that you like most, will help you to manage the stressful situation. Avoid carbohydrate dense comfort food as far as possible. 3. Performing simple Repeat performance task like vacuuming or repeating a word like calm, happy etc. will quickly gives a sense of tranquility. Moreover, it brings down the blood pressure as well as rates of heart and breathing and helps to relax the muscles. 4. Washing hands frequently. Under stressful conditions, the immune system will not work properly thereby leaving us easily and more vulnerable to diseases, especially the germ-borne ones. So avoid the microbes by finding time to wash them frequently whenever you get time. 5. Listening smooth music while driving is highly beneficial to beat the stress. A simple exercise also can be performed inside the car. Holding on the steering, clench all the muscles right from fingertips, up to shoulders and in the back for about 4-5 seconds and then release. Repeat this frequently. 6. Minimize bank withdrawal to once per week. This helps to have a greater sense over finance, helping to alleviate an enormous amount of financial stress. 7. Floating in water reduces stress hormone levels, tension and depressions. 8. After work in the evenings, take a break from the electronic devices like cell phone, laptop, PC etc. which constantly keep us in stressed condition, not allowing us to get the necessary resting time which is a must. They also reduce the time for family care. Hence keep a time limit everyday for putting these off. 9. When facing a major challenge, remember a successfully conquered past challenge. By remembering the successful events, we feel the power to overcome the obstacles in life. Also seeking advice from counselors or self help groups also helps us to thrive well. 10. Before going to bed, simple spinal twist stretch called asana may be practised. Sit on the bed with legs folded and put the right hand behind you on the bed while resting the left hand on right knee. Sitting upright , inhale four counts as the spine is lengthened up as you breathe. During exhale, twist towards your right hand and hold for four more counts. This must be repeated on the other side also. By doing this asana, the tension can be alleviatedwhich has been accumulated in the lower back throughout the day.
