Hair loss
These days hair loss has been a major cause for concern not
only among the elderly people but also among the younger generation. Men and
women, boys and girls, alike are worried and this seems to be changing into a
phobia. When combing certain amount of hair falls and this should not be a
reason to worry as the weak hair falls off and this is quiet normal of even
people with healthy hair growth. But, if there is considerable hair
fall then
it has to be taken seriously and one should
consult a doctor.
Causes of hair
lossAging is the normal cause or reason for hair loss but there are
several other
reasons or causes of hair loss like heredity, change of hormones,
over dosage or heavy doses of medicines, diet pattern, use of products which
contain chemicals, exposure to climatic conditions, air pollution, contaminated
water and water which contains chlorine in excess amount, etc. These are the
common reasons of hair loss among both the genders but in females there are
other reasons also like they tend to loose hair during and after pregnancy and
also during menopause or while attaining puberty. Sometimes certain fungal
diseases also cause hair loss. These days a lot of people visit saloons and
parlors and unhealthy or unhygienic reasons also contribute to hair loss. It is
also found to be severe in patients suffering from diabetes and cancer. Then
there are reasons like not taking proper care of ones hair by not oiling or
conditioning it as and when required, not washing the hair regularly, not combing
with the comb that suits your hair type etc. There are innumerable reasons for
this and so care should be taken to prevent this.Prevention of hair
lossHair loss due to aging can be hardly prevented but hair fall
due to other reasons can be taken care of. As much as possible keep your hair
clean and well groomed. Use the type of shampoo that suits your hair type and
condition the hair weekly. Avoid exposing the hair to extreme sun’s rays as the
ultra violet rays from the sun can damage the hair. People who travel to their
work place expose hair to dust and so must wash their hair at least thrice a
week. Eat healthy and proper diet. Reduce worrying and tensions. Sleep well. If
in spite of these steps hair fall persists then consult a good doctor as he
will be able to guide you better after diagnosing the cause.TreatmentThere are several treatments for arresting hair
fall in allopathy, homeopathy and ayurvedic. In the above treatments both oral
and external applications are possible. But it is in the best interest of the
patient to consult his or her doctor. The effectiveness and cost of the
Treatment would differ from case to case so also the response to the treatment
would differ from
person to person. There are several hair transplant clinics
which cater to the immediate and serious problems while they may be costly too.
Homeopathy is generally a slow process which differs from person to person and
this is an oral treatment. Ayurvedic
treatment consists of herbal products which may be used internally or applied
in the form of cream or hair oil or paste. In normal cases of hair loss several
home remedies are available like hot oil massage or henna treatment.
