High blood pressure may cause swollen eyes

There is also no difference in the eyesight. The blood vessels located in the eyes cannot bear the blood pressure resulting in the bursting of the blood vessels. The eyes become bloodshot. This problem can be prevented if the high blood pressure is kept in control.
Sometimes there might be an obstacle in the blood vessels for the blood to flow properly. This might cause damage to the blood vessel. This condition is called Retinal vascular occlugen. In this condition the eye-sight will decrease gradually. The decrease in eye sight is directly proportional to the damage suffered by the blood vessel. If the decrease in the eye sight is detected at an early stage it can be restored by proper treatment. Hence, persons suffering from high blood pressure should be very careful.
If the persons suffering from high blood pressure are addicted to smoking they will surely get sub conjuctival haemorrage. It is more prevalent in persons addicted to drinking.
It is necessary to control the cholesterol present in the blood.
Sometimes due to high blood pressure the blood vessels supplying blood to the eyes and brain may become damaged. Persons suffering from this problem might experience a total blackout in one eye when they wake up in the morning. In the morning the blood pressure is usually very low, hence this problem can be diagnised properly at this time.
People taking pills for high blood pressure are more prone to this problem. The optical nerve of the eyes are permanently damaged.
