The Dangers of Medication

Book Abstract by: TheNeuropath

Original Author: Les Abrams

The Danger of Medication                       This article has been previously published by me.While the following
information is widely known among medical providers and medical researchers,
the general public still has absolutely no clue as to the dangers described
below. What is the subject here? It is the damage to one's health that may
result from the build-up of toxic residues from the many medications which we
all take.
Almost all medications have
toxic residues that most likely will adversely affect one's health.  Many
diseases, including cancer, may be caused by these toxic residues. Common medications
which may affect you are: all NSAIDS (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs);
over the counter remedies; almost all prescription medications; and, as if this
were not enough, some foods may produce similar toxic residues - depending upon
one's unique physiology.  While it is necessary to
avail ones self of these medications which may produce toxic residues, the
patient is able to defend against this toxicity. The fundamental process that
is damaged by these toxic residues is that of the fouling and blocking of the
Metabolic Pathways in the liver. Aspirin ( an NSAID) and similar over the
counter medications are as damaging to this liver function as well as strong
medications such as alpha and beta blockers.  Most of these resultant toxic
medical residues affect the (liver) and one of its basic processes, called
glucuronidation. This is the process of converting lipophilic (fat-soluble)
toxins to hydrophilic (water-soluble) toxins so that the metabolic process of
the liver may then excrete these toxins as waste. Of course - one of the first
functions of the liver that are damaged by these toxic medications - is that of
glucuronidation.  This means that the toxins actually prevent themselves from
being metabolized out of your system.
The result is, that these
lipophilic toxins come to reside in your fat cells if they are not metabolized
out of your system. Over time, these toxins will damage other organs and cause
an entire menu of diseases ranging from cancer to premature old age. To prevent
this process from continuing and to correct the damaged liver function of
glucuronidation - one must take 600 mg of N-Acetyl-Cysteine (NAC).  This
particular supplement is given to people who suffer liver damage from
overdosing on acetaminophen (Tylenol).
When beginning treatment to
correct the damage to one's liver, it is beneficial to take L-Glutathione as
well. After the first month, it is not necessary to take this second supplement
- because - NAC will produce its own L-Glutathione.  Once the metabolic pathways
of the liver are cleared - the process of glucuronidation will be
re-established, and the medical toxins will once again be purged from one's
system - thus preventing the accumulation of these injurious toxins in your
fat-cells.
