Human beings are always concern with
eating, we always crave
for delicious
food and sometimes even if we are not hungry we tend to eat, just
for the sake of satisfying our
taste buds. We should remember that eating the
right kind of food should be taken seriously since we don’t just work to eat,
we work and eat so that we will live a longer life. Knowing the right kind of
food we are eating and getting the right
nutrients is essential for us to have
a good and
healthy body. When we become adult our metabolism slows down,
therefore our stomach doesn’t digest food as much as it does during our younger
years. As we near the age of 30’s we tend to gain weight specially if we are
still eating the same amount of food and doing the same activities. Eating high
cholesterol diet is one the reasons why people suffer from heart attack,
diabetes and other health related problems which could be avoided if we
only watch the food that we are eating.
Being a food lover myself, I also try to see to it that when I buy food I would
be getting the nutrients that my body needs and not depriving myself of the
delicious taste. Thus, light
cooking is helpful in the kind of lifestyle I
have, since I don’t have to spend so much time preparing but still I get the
nutrients that my body needs. Aside from the fact that light cooking is simple
and easy to prepare I can save a lot of time in the kitchen without sacrificing
the taste of the food. Light cooking would be beneficial to busy people like
me. There is less fat or cholesterol and calories and still enjoy the taste.
When buying food it is important to check the nutritional
value especially for packed goods. It is wise to buy goods that have less fat
and don’t need any frying when you prepare them. It would be best to buy fruits
and vegetables that are fresh from the farm and not stocked in a local market.
We don’t know what chemicals they have if they are already packed and displayed
in the stores.
Living a healthy life is a choice. One could choose to be
diabetic if he doesn’t care about the food he eats. Maintaining a healthy body
doesn’t mean depriving ourselves from any delicious food. It’s just a matter of
discipline and at the same time be conscious of the food we eat, know the
nutrients that present in each food. Best of all it is still important to
consult your nutritionist.
