“You are what you eat”.
If you want to be obese then eat foods rich in
calorie, but if you want
to stay
lean then watch your diet. Eating the right kind of food which our body
needs doesn’t hurt. We have become so obsessed with
instant ideas, we are so dependent
with technologies that what we want to know are just accessible instantly. Yes,
we have relied so much on the internet for instant information and instant
communication. We become impatient if it would not give us the result in few
seconds. Why, am I talking about the internet here? Well, isn’t it too obvious
that we don’t only expect instant information, but also we want instant food!
Yes, processed goods that you can only prepare in 3 minutes or less! But come
to think of it, have you tried asking is these instant processed foods
contained the nutrients that our body needs? And have you take time to read
their nutritional content? Well, these foods contained less nutrients that our
body needs and they have more cholesterol and even chemicals that would harm
our body. Yes food manufacturers knew it and professionals knew it but do we
knew it? Now it’s time to check what we are eating.
Christmas holiday is coming and this is the time when people
around the world show that they are not poor specially when it comes to food.
This is my favorite season of the year. I always love Christmas. Well, first
reason is the abundance of food. I love to see the kitchen loaded with food.
Yes, eating time! This is the time when New Years’ Resolution of eating less and
staying fit is forgotten. This is the time that once could say, well just for
Christmas. But, most of us are not aware that the food we prepare on this
season are foods rich in calorie. With all the cakes, ham, cheese, salad,
pasta, cookies and all that we can afford to buy. Well, though it would just be
for a day or two, our body would already get so much calorie from the different
menus we have. This is the best time wherein one must consider light
cooking.
It doesn’t mean that you will forget about cakes and cookies. Well, choose the
right ingredients that would give you less calorie. You can always cook
something that is more nutritious, easy to prepare and of course good for your
health.
If you believe that prevention is better than cure, or an
apple a day keeps the doctor away, then it wont hurt to practice light cooking.
Be aware of the food you eat, know the contents and know what your body needs
We are so accustomed to processed foods, we don’t realize
that these foods are loaded with fat and sugar which our body doesn’t need
much. We should eat food that would nourish our body, food that would make us
healthy not food that would satisfy our hunger.
