How to stay healthy this winter

Article Abstract by: Rockygal

Original Author: DianaDarmonska
Many people are not aware how to stay healthy during all seasons. Winter time is a very special time of the year. We always
associate it with holidays, Christmas, New Year''s Eve... and getting sick!In my experience and after all the research that I have done, I am a firm believer that it is very easy to stay healthy!First thing you can do is to watch what you eat and drink! Specialist recommend we should eat a lot of fresh fruit and vegetables, all kind of fish, meat and whole-grain bread and cereal.I can tell for my own experience that drinking a sufficient quantity of water is the cornerstone to staying healthy during all seasons! You need approximately 2 l. of water per day! It is very important to start and to finish your day with a glass of mineral or filtered tab water.Another thing you can do to prepare yourself for a lovely "flu-less" winter is to get enough sleep. We need 8 hours of sleep in the summer, but our body requires 10 hours of sleep in the winter. Don''t underestimate the power of sleep!Try to do sports. It is a sure way you can stay fit and healthy. It is also a great way to socialize in the gym.Beware how you socialize, though! Try not to stay in very crowded rooms or buildings, because this is how microbes and viruses get to you! They are transmitted in the air and through water. If it is not very cold outside, prefer to walk to work if it is possible than to take the packed bus or subway to work. Plus walking is a kind of sport. It will help you burn calories and refreshen in the morning and evening after work. And finally, try to be optimistic. The more optimistic people are, the healthier!
