BLACKHEADS DIAGNOSIS AND TREATMENT

Article Abstract by: jainnitin

Original Author: Juliet kohen
Blackheads are the slightly different sibling of zits, and like zits,
squeezing them can be addictive. Blackheads is
types of acne.
Blackheads are caused when sebum (the skin''s natural oil) collects and
hardens in the pores. Blackheads are typically caused by excessive oil
and makeup, which can facilitate the multiplication of the bacterium
propionibacterium acnes, the predominant anaerobe of the normal skin
flora. The congesting toxins that are being expelled through your skin
from the blood and lymph fluid combines with sebum creating a pasty
glue. The exposed tip becomes oxidized and black, hence the name -
blackheads. Mainly blackheads are dark because of the presence of a
dark pigment. This dark pigment color is not the result of dirt in the
pores. Blackheads are often not apparent to an observer.
The most troubling aspect of blackheads for many people is the scarring
that can occur. Mostly blackheads are present on skin is the result of
oily skin and blocked pores. A good cleansing routine is one of the
best ways to remove blackheads. Benzoyl peroxide exfoliates the skin
and the anti-bacterial agents in it clear the excess debris from the
skin to help prevent infections when used as part of a three step
process. Do not use a facial scrub if you have other bad acne it could
spread the acne and make it worse. Apply an astringent. It helps reduce
oiliness. Washing with soap and water once or twice daily is a good way
to keep debris and oils from the day accumulating on the skin surface.
Salicylic acid and benzoyl peroxide are both common over-the-counter
treatments for acne.
Blackheads may be temporarily reduced by home remedies. Apply a paste
of fresh methi (fenugreek) leaves over the face every night for 10-15
minutes and washed with warm water. Apply a paste of ground radish
seeds in water on the blackheads. Tomatoes are very useful when
treating blackheads. Sunbathing or use of sun-beds in moderation can be
helpful. Make a paste by mixing 1 tsp limejuice and 1 tsp of finely
powdered cinnamon. Apply it on the affected area before going to bed.
Wash it off in the morning. The best home remedy for blackheads is to
make a good lather of 1 tablespoon grounded almonds and water and
gently work this foam over the face. Then use a shaving brush to clean
the face and open clogged pores.
