Anxiety disorder is a mental condition that twenty percent (20%) of the world population suffers from. This type of mental
condition has several facets.  Obsessive-compulsive disorder, panic disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder, social anxiety and specific phobias are types of anxiety disorders. People from different ages suffer from this mental condition but adults are most affected.  Further studies also revealed that women are more susceptible to anxiety disorders.   Authorities claim that anxiety may develop from a chemical or hormonal imbalance in the brain. Other factors such as genetics, built-up stress, conditioned patterns of behavior, unresolved issues, and the environment, are also as contributors to this mental disorder. Increased hear rate, short and rapid breathing, chest pains dizziness, insomnia, tension, and irritability are signs or manifestations of this mental disorder.    All is not lost if a person is diagnosed with anxiety disorders. There are also many treatment options for people affected by anxiety. Medication is used to treat anxiety disorders .Antidepressants and anti-anxiety medicines, which can be used in short-term as well as long-term cases and can be used in conjunction with other treatments. Therapies, done with a therapist or counselor, include behavior therapy, which involves controlling undesired behavior; cognitive therapy, which involves changing negative thought patterns; cognitive-behavior therapy; and relaxation and calming techniques, such as breathing, massage and aromatherapy.   In the past, it was difficult to determine or identify whether a person suffered from this condition.  Now, after many years, there is a better understanding of this condition and its roots. There are also different options one may take in order to curb, manage, or even treat these mental conditions.  Pharmaceutical companies have developed numerous types of medication that and may be administered for short to long-term cases. Medicine such as antidepressants and anti-anxiety pills are very effective in treating anxiety disorders.  Therapy is also another answer for treating anxiety disorders. A trained, psychiatrist, psychologist, or counselor conducts therapy.  Together, both therapy and medication have proven to be effective in treating anxiety disorders.   Another effective, yet natural method of treating or managing this type of mental condition, is maintaining a balanced diet. Proper dieting allows the monitoring of the intake of sugar, which directly affects the blood.  This prevents the volatile or erratic fluctuations in the blood sugar levels. Vitamin B Complex is also another good dietary supplement to fortify the person’s diet. Of course, engaging in regular exercise is important to regulate the heartbeat. This also helps in relieving unwanted or excess tension.   Anxiety disorders are life altering. They are sometimes serious and become life threatening; Not only the person diagnosed with it suffers.  Friends and family are also affected. It becomes difficult to live a life of quality and happiness.  The good news is help is readily available.
