child. But according to Dr Sadiq Mirza, Asst Professor of Paediatrics, KMDC and ASH, "There is no need to give honey to neonates as germs can enter in kid''s body and may cause diarrhea." Furthermore World Health Organisation (WHO) recommends that mother should give breast-
feeding within 30 minutes of the birth of child. "If a child is feeding on mom''s milk then he/she doesn''t need water till 6 months of his/her birth as mother''s milk already contains 85 percent of water," Dr Mirza adds.
