According to The Times online edition
coffee has become quite
popular throughout Britain and every seven out of ten British adults
drink it regularly. Many times it has been pointed that caffeine is unhealthy but recent research shows that it is the way we drink coffee that matters and can be a cause for concern. It has been proved that unfiltered coffee as well as cafetiere coffee cause an increase of blood lipids-that’s the scientific for fats.
Professor D. Moore , a researcher at the Baylor College of Medicine in Texas has found out that five cups a day increase blood cholesterol with six to eight per cent. Although strange, it turns out that coffee is also one of the factors to obesity and the illnesses that go with it.
Recent research has shown that very often coffee served at some of the popular high street
chains often contains as much
fat and as many
calories as an ordinary fast-food meal.Starbucks is one of the chains , mentioned in the report. Interestingly, according to Joanne Lunn , a nutritionist , it seems that fat accumulated due to coffee calories tend to settle on the hips more than that from other types of food.Based on different studies of the problem, her suggestion is that if we want to keep our waistline in good shape we should drink just one
espresso or Americano, black if possible or with some skimmed milk in iot only. Some Italian researchers have found out that espresso is the best source of tannin and , in some cases, a possible cure of headaches.
